The Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation (WHRF) was born out of the housing crisis of the 1970's at the behest of the Walnut Hills Area Council and other concerned leaders in the Walnut Hills Community. It is a non-profit corporation authorized tp acquire, develop and manage real estate. It was incorporated in 1977.

The mission of the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation is to sustain and revitalize the Walnut Hills area by focusing on residential and commercial development which promotes a thriving, racially and economically diverse community, primarily for the benefit of neighborhood residents.

The WHRF seeks to improve the stock of desirable, affordable housing units, and to encourage commercial development in the neighborhood. The Foundation is a catalyst amoung public and private housing services.

Through the years the WHRF has provided affordable housing for ownership and rental with the goal of offering an opportunity for moderate and middle income persons. This effort has resulted in the creation of numerous units of new and rehabbed housing. WHRF has always approached its mission with sensitivity to the needs of the existing residents and businessess; and to continue the preservation of the Walnut Hills heritage. The mission and purpose of WHRF as established in the mid 1970's remains so today.
